When someone breaks a world record, they become part of the Guinness World Records family.

And what a wild, beautiful, wholesome family we have!

As we celebrate our 70th anniversary (our first ever edition was published on 27 August 1955), we’ve received so many lovely birthday messages from our record holders.

From prolific collectors and serial record breakers to ICONs and celebrities, we’re so grateful to have so many wonderful people in our gang.

Here are just a few of the many wonderful messages we’ve been lucky enough to receive…

CUE6 is a basketball-playing robot created by the Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan).

It broke the record for farthest basketball shot by a humanoid robot in September 2024 with an impressive shot from 24.55 m (80 ft 6 in) away.

Sam Ramsdell (USA) is the proud owner of the world’s widest mouth (female), with a measurement of 10.33 cm (4.07 in).

Neska Fuerzina (USA) is the world’s most tattooed person living (female). An incredible 99.98% of her body is covered in ink.

The decorated beauty, formerly known as Esperance Lumineska Fuerzina, is also the most tattooed person ever (female) and has the most body modifications (female) with a total of 110.

Kazuhisa Uekusa (Japan), aka Wes P, has broken a string of records with his very unique performance style.

To name just a few, he has earned titles for the most matches lit with plungers attached to the body in one minute with a total of 73, the most hoops passed through by a table tennis ball elevated with a hairdryer held between the legs in one minute with 11, and the tallest double Jenga tower cloth pull with the body at 78 cm (30.7 in).

George Frandsen (USA) has the largest collection of coprolites in the world – 1,277 of them!

He has so many of them he opened his very own museum, aptly named the Poozeum.

Thanks to everyone who has sent us a message.

Do you want to be part of the Guinness World Records family?

Then you should get involved in our Be Part of It campaign!

GWR70: Be Part of It isn't really about us… it’s about people like you - ordinary people who have set themselves a goal, however big or small, and are working towards achieving it.

We're hoping to reach more future record breakers than ever before, so they too can experience the joy and excitement of attempting and participating in a record-breaking challenge.

If things go well enough, maybe they’ll even experience the elation of becoming a Guinness World Records title holder. When it comes to record breaking, nothing beats taking part.
