A circus performer with seriously strong locks has broken a hair-hanging record that went unchallenged for more than a decade.

In the picturesque setting of Redwood National and State Parks in California, USA, Leila Noone spent 25 min 11.30 sec hanging by her ponytail to claim the record for longest time suspended by the hair.

The American took on the challenge in June 2024, breaking the previous record of 23 min 19 sec, that had been set by Suthakaran Sivagnanathurai (Australia) all the way back in 2011.

Leila, 38, trained for two years before staging her attempt.

She’s also a professional hair hanger, so definitely don’t try this at home.

Leila, who said she wanted to prove what people can do with the power of their mind, put on the incredible show of strength while friends kept her entertained with gentle guitar music.

Members of the crowd also kept her spirits up by showering her with positive affirmations.

Leila struck a series of poses while hanging by her hair.

Those who practise the art often have their own special and unique method for tying their hair.

And whatever Leila’s tactics were, they certainly did the trick.

The performer, who has also appeared on American Ninja Warrior, has thousands of followers on social media, and often shares stunning imagery and videos of herself doing various acrobatic stunts, shooting a bow and arrow with her feet and of course, lots of hair hanging.
