Woman with longest tongue loves making people "scream in horror" by showing it off

Chanel Tapper always gets a giggle when people scream at the mere sight of her record-breaking tongue.
At 9.75 cm (3.8 in) from the tip to her lips, she holds the record for longest tongue (female).
Even more amazingly, she’s held on to her title since 2010, and she simply loves it when people get such a shock that they scream in horror when they see it.
Chanel, from California, USA, confessed: “Honestly, the best reaction I could ever get when someone sees my tongue is screaming. I actually do like when people yell or scream in shock, or horror sometimes.
“But that’s probably my favourite one because it’s funny to me because it’s a dramatic response.”
We caught up with the 34-year-old record holder recently, and she showed us some of the more unusual things she can do with her extra-long tongue.
Chanel removed Jenga blocks, flipped Red Solo Cups, touched her nose with her tongue, and even held up a spoon by curling her tongue around it.
She said: “I like little fun, silly things like that. That’s what makes my tongue the most fun when I can do things that are outside the box with it.”
She added: “My favourite thing about being a record holder has to be when I get to travel and meet other record holders as well.
“It’s fun, and of course I get to see the parts of the world I’ve never seen before.”
Last year, Chanel was invited to star in an advertising campaign for fashion brand Diesel alongside some other record holders.
Her record-breaking tongue was painted blue and green for a series of stunning pictures for the Italian brand’s Welcome to Successful Living campaign.
The Spring Summer 2024 campaign was a homage to a classic TV talent competition, with a panel of judges and a live audience watching on in awe as our talented stars took to the stage to show off exactly what makes them special.
