We are sure you will love this teethrrific record.

Shawn Brown, 33, from Cornwall, and Ruth Amos, 34, from Sheffield, are a powerhouse of creativity.

The duo already boasts over 70 creations under their belt and a YouTube channel with over 66.7k subscribers and, now, they have earned a coveted spot in Guinness World Records 2025 thanks to their latest creation: the largest electric toothbrush EVER.

The colossal toothbrush measures an astounding 2.008 meters (6 feet 7 inches).

This fully functional, huge replica is taller than a dromedary camel, as the animal's average height reaches around two meters (6 feet).

Since 2017, the pair have masterminded the successful YouTube channel Kids Invent Stuff, where they set monthly themed challenges aimed at 4–11-year-olds. The young audience is always encouraged to submit their ideas: the more crazy and ambitious, the better!

It was during one of these weeks that the idea of the toothbrush came about.

The massive invention, affectionately dubbed George, spawned from a design submitted by an 11-year-old boy of the same name.

The creation was imagined for a garden-themed challenge, handling all kinds of gardening tasks.

We’re really passionate about celebrating kids’ inventiveness. – Shawn Brown

Ruth and Shawn recall that the design and creation process took around five days, proving that the team doesn’t waste any time bringing their audience's playful imagination to life.

The fully functional toothbrush was assembled out of sturdy metal, with a motor on the head that could be attached to different tools.

While it may not be the best tool for maintaining dental hygiene, George the toothbrush proved to be an excellent ally for everyday gardening tasks like scrubbing the patio clean.

In fact, once the mammoth toothbrush was completed, Ruth and Shawn didn’t waste any time to showcase how the record-breaking object was perfect to brush, chop and trim – tackling even tree branches!

For sure, this invention was everything young George asked for.

Shawn and Ruth are no strangers to embracing out-of-the-box thinking, and their channel is filled with quirky motorized magic carpets, karaoke mops, incredible swings and disco chairs.

Their work also empowers children to embrace creativity, shining a light on a fun, exciting, and perhaps less conventional side of STEM.

From glitter-spraying saxophones to a bike that can feed you candy while pedalling, the pair thrives on taking the most whimsical ideas and turning them into reality.

In a world with lots of challenges, we believe in the importance of being kind and silly and creating things just for the joy of creating. – Ruth

When he was 19, Shawn won UK Young Engineer of the Year.

With a background in renewable energy engineering, as well as Art and Design, he is described on the Kids Invent Stuff website as "not your typical engineer".

"He’s a designer, a maker, and most importantly, a super-creative inventor," continues the web page.

Ruth, on the other hand, is a multiple-award-winner inventor and entrepreneur.

Her mobility-aid invention StairSteady was recognized as the product of the year by the British Healthcare Trade Association in 2014.

"I love seeing the amazing ideas we get sent each month, going to schools and seeing and hearing all the incredible ideas young people have," she says about her work with Kids Invent Stuff.

I also love trying to solve the problems that come with bringing to life the invention ideas, and the inevitable failures. – Ruth

While the giant toothbrush may be too large to fit in your bathroom, it fits perfectly in the imaginative world Ruth and Shawn have built.

"Being in the book is a real ‘pinch me moment’,” Ruth says about featuring in Guinness World Records 2025. "I am so excited for George to see this in the book."

"It will mean the world to us being able to celebrate George’s invention appearing in the book!" Shawn adds.

"We can’t wait to hear his response when he sees it for the first time!"

Largest toothbrush and certificate

As they move forward, the inventive pair show no signs of slowing down. On the contrary, they have their eyes set on new records to break as they continue to "help and inspire young people to do the things that make them smile."

"With a library of tens of thousands of kids’ invention ideas that we've been sent from around the world, many of them may have record-breaking potential," Ruth and Shawn explained.

That's why, with their boundless creativity and the enthusiastic input from their young audience, the two creators aim to shatter even more records in the future.

As we eagerly await their next creation, we can already guess it’ll be larger than life and packed with fun.
