American YouTuber and Twitch streamer Dream has been awarded two Guinness World Records titles for his Minecraft-based successes.
Dream's first record is for the most subscribers for a dedicated Minecraft channel on YouTube. First verified on 16 June 2022 at 29.3 million subscribers, his channel has now reached over 29.9 million.
He has also achieved the record for the most viewed Minecraft gameplay video on YouTube. The video, titled "Minecraft Speedrunner VS 3 Hunters GRAND FINALE" has racked up over 114 million views on the platform.
On hand to deliver the certificates to Dream was fellow record holder, JackSucksAtLife, who recently topped his own record for the most channels with over 100,000 subscribers owned by an individual with 11.
Jack has become passionate about record researching in recent months, helping to getting friends TommyInnit, GeorgeNotFound and now Dream into the Guinness World Records archives.
Dream, whose real identity remains a mystery to this day, created his YouTube account in 2014 and has solely posted Minecraft-related content since then.
He is perhaps best known for his 'Dream SMP' Minecraft server, which has featured other popular creators such as Lazarbeam, Wilbur Soot and Vikkstar123.
Another popular series is the 'Minecraft Manhunt' series, upon where his friends attempt to kill him in the game before he can destroy the Ender Dragon.
He has a combined 44 million subscribers across all of his channels and his smiley-faced character skin has become synonymous with the Minecraft community.
First released in 2011, Minecraft has become one of the most popular video games in the world and is still just as popular today as it was upon its first release.
It holds records for being the highest grossing indie videogame as well as the best selling videogame on non-console formats – as of 2015 it had sold 18,910,800 copies on just PC and Mac.
The aforementioned TommyInnit also holds his own world records in the popular sandbox game, for the most followed Minecraft channel on Twitch and for the most viewers of a Minecraft gameplay livestream on Twitch which was actually played in the Dream SMP server.
