Jorge Arias became caught up in the magic of Disney’s hit movie, Cars, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, when it was released in 2006.

He loved the film so much he decided to start collecting memorabilia related to the talking motors!

With a total of 1,200 items, he now has the record for the largest collection of Cars memorabilia and appears in the Guinness World Records 2022 book.

His journey began when his daughter asked him to buy McQueen, Sally, Mater and Chick Hicks from the first Cars movie to play with her neighbor.

From that moment on, the Mexico City resident became captivated by the vivid colors and quality, and his passion for collecting more pieces began.

"I kept buying them without knowing how many there really are, and since then I haven't stopped collecting."

Fifteen years later, his amassment continues to expand! He is always looking for new items to add to it.

Jorge displays his items on glass shelves and in cases, which helps to keep them intact and in perfect condition.

He keeps a record of each item in his inventory - each car is strategically placed and numbered inside the display cases.

Out of all of the items, John Lasseter and Albert Hinkey are two of his favourite pieces.

However, it's not just Jorge who enjoys his collection - he shares it with the world. Hundreds of fans and collectors have visited him to see his impressive amount of memorabilia.

Children from all over Mexico also celebrate their birthday in the fantastic world of Cars build by Jorge and feel inspired to start their own stash.

"Never stop fighting to achieve your dreams. My personal phrase is 'life is full of dreams and challenges - the essential thing is to fulfill them.'

Disney also celebrates his extensive Cars treasure trove. Cars Director Brian Fee and Co-Producer Andrea Warren learned about his collection and went to Mexico City to meet with Arias.

During their meeting, they gifted him with a drawing of McQueen and an invite to the premiere of Cars 3. It is one of Jorge’s most cherished moments since he started collecting.

He feels honoured to be in the pages of Guinness World Records 2022

"I am very happy and proud; never in my life did it cross my mind that I would be awarded a Guinness World Records title. It was something unattainable and now that I have it, I am very excited and pleased to know that my story will be told in the 2022 book. I can't believe it!"

But Jorge isn’t done with record breaking! He’s working to set another record, this time for his Cars Mini Racers specifically.
