2021 has been a huge year on TikTok!
Khaby Lame (Italy) smashed Zach King’s record for the most followers on TikTok (male). Khaby is now followed by 124 million people, as of December 2021.
He’s closing in on Charli D’Amelio (USA), who still holds onto her crown as the queen of the platform. Charli has the most followers on TikTok overall, with 131 million currently.
Of course, there was no shortage of record-breaking action on Guinness World Records' own TikTok page; from oddly satisfying clips of fruit-slicing and can-crushing, to some of our most iconic record holders such as Isaac Johnson and Harnaam Kaur.

Donald was first awarded this record title in 1999. Since then, he has continued consuming two Big Mac® burgers every day, bringing his tally to 32,340 (as of August 2021).
In the last 44 years, there have been only eight days in which Donald didn't eat a Big Mac® - most recently, on 23 November 2000. The restaurant should be named after him!

On 19 May 2021, Eric set a record for the fastest time to drink two litres of soda.
He introduced it as "The Perfect Chug" and he didn’t disappoint, downing two litres of sugar-free cola in just 18.45 seconds.
Eric's personality is just as bubbly as the soda he chugs, so we're not surprised to see he was big hit on TikTok!

Usually we post videos of people achieving records, but this one shows Ayanna Williams (USA) losing her record. On purpose.
Ayanna held the record for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands (female), but on 26 March 2021 she decided to cut them for the first time since the early '90s.
Before being cut, Ayanna's nails were measured for a final time. They had grown to 733.55 cm (24 ft 0.7 in) long.

Youngest female with a full beard
Harnaam Kaur (UK) was aged 24 years 282 days when she earned this record title back in 2015.
At 12 years old, Harnaam was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) - a condition that millions of people around the world have.
Her message of body positivity and acceptance resonated with millions of viewers on TikTok.
"So many women have facial hair and they are so disregarded because it's not 'the norm to have'. We get mocked for something that is so natural to our body," Harnaam explained.
"My beard allows me to have good people around me only, because I know that the people around me are very open minded, non-judgmental and loving."
