South Korean pop group BTS have been breaking online records again with the video debut of their latest single "Boy With Luv", featuring US singer songwriter Halsey.

According to YouTube, the video debuted with 74.6 million views in the first 24 hours, achieving Guinness World Records titles for:

The debut single is taken from the group's new EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, which features a collaboration with fellow record holder Ed Sheeran.

Previous record holders include Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" (55.4 million views), BTS's "IDOL" (45 million), Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" (43.2 million) and PSY's "Gentleman" (38 million). Fellow K-Pop sensations BLACKPINK had a fleeting grasp of all three record titles for just over a week, with 56,700,000 views in 24 hours of their latest single "Kill This Love" which premiered on April 4.

We can now also announce that K-Pop fans helped contribute to a new record for most used hashtag on Twitter in 24 hours. #TwitterBestFandom achieved 60,055,339 uses from 16-17 March 2019. The hashtag was used during the voting stages for the 14th Annual Soompi Awards

Global streaming service Rakuten Viki is home to the Soompi Awards, one of the largest and longest-running international awards honoring the best in Korean television and music. Fans were invited to vote for K-Pop bands including BTS, BLACKPINK, EXO and GOT7.

The group continue to wow international audiences with two sell-out performances at London's O2 arena, a sold out show at Citi Field stadium in New York City last October and an appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Other impressive accolades achieved by the group, whose international fanbase has grown rapidly in recent years spreading via social media, include becoming the first K-pop act to reach No.1 on the US albums chart and the most Twitter engagements (average retweets).

The previous record holder for most used hashtag in 24 hours was #AlDubEBTamangPanahon, with 40,706,392 uses from 24 -25 October 2015. AlDub is the collective term for a celebrity couple based in the Philippines - Alden (Alden Richards) and Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) - who appear on the hit variety show Eat Bulaga!
