This week we’re thrilled to say we are joined by Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario! Charles was in the Guinness World Records London HQ to collect his record certificate for the Most videogame voiceover performances as the same character – now up to 100 following the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Over the course of the show we chat about how he started out as Mario, what it’s like to work with Nintendo’s team in the studio, how he came up with the voices of Mario and the other characters that he voices (including Luigi, Wario and Waluigi), how Mario’s voice has changed since 1992 and plenty more besides.
And, in our regular On The Record section, we chat about some of the Mario series’ most impressive record titles. Including the most-critically acclaimed Mario game, the best-selling videogame and the most speed-run Mario game – woohoo!
