Over the past three weeks, the professional dancers on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing (UK) have been competing for an official Guinness World Records title, as well as the show’s coveted glitterball trophy with their celebrity partners.

On BBC Two’s spin off show, It Takes Two (UK), each talented dancer has attempted the title Most Charleston swivel steps in 30 seconds – a fiendishly difficult record that requires the challenger to step forward and back while swivelling their heels inwards on each step, as many times as possible.

The move, which is the foundation of the popular Charleston dance, requires speed and precision – but for this Guinness World Records attempt the dancers needed to perform the step faster than they’ve ever done it before.

Check out the attempts on the Strictly Come Dancing YouTube channel.

The winner of the challenge was announced on tonight’s episode of It Takes Two, as each of the dancers waited with baited breath to find out if they would be receiving an official Guinness World Records certificate.

Completing an amazing 24 steps, reigning champion of the Strictly Pro Challenge Giovanni Pernice secured his second Guinness World Records title.
