In 2013, at the incredible age of 93 years and 100 days, Thomas completed a journey on the wings of an airplane between Stranraer in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and Derry in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, UK.

When he was a young boy Thomas dreamed of being a pilot, but he faced a setback when he was not accepted into the RAF and later suffered a stroke which restricted the use of his legs.

Following the sudden passing of his wife, Thomas decided it was time to make his dream a reality and took his first flight at the age of 80.

First setting the record in 2009, he went on to break it four more times to secure his place in history as the oldest wing walker ever.
