The attempt was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be
0:05
When I practiced, I was practicing by myself and I would count the bubbles
0:11
but I had never had anybody else count them. So the number that I had in my head was different to the actual number of bubbles
0:22
that wouldn't break up at the surface. So when I went to do the attempt and I tried the first time, I couldn't even do it
0:29
My background in the area of bubble brink making comes from free diving
0:36
When you free dive, you learn techniques to expand your lungs, you learn, or with the training you learn to control the contractions that happen when you need to breathe
0:49
So all that helps for making bubble brains. And the technique is really easy
0:55
First, the shallower you go, the easier it is. Trying a bulwring at 5 meters is much harder than a meter and a half
1:03
But you also then have to figure out what is the ideal depth
1:08
Because if you're too shallow, then the bubbles will break each other up
1:13
All you do is you put some pressure in your cheeks, and you stick your tongue out and you suck it back in So I do the okay And then the next thing that you have to do is get a rhythm
1:32
If you do them too fast, the bubbles will kill each other and they have to make it fast through one meter
1:38
But if you look, if I had one to the surface, which is the other attempt
1:43
there's one that goes through the other one and one of them dies
1:47
So the speed is really important for the survival of the bubble
1:52
And then as you're going, so your lungs are getting empty and more empty and more empty and by the end
2:00
my lungs are beyond where you are in an exhale. So, and then more
2:06
Growing up and through my life, I've never been an athlete. I was a kid that failed physical education several times and that was never picked for any
2:16
I never picked for any jeans and I can't do a push up
2:21
I can't run very far. And then suddenly I found my superpower
2:29
which is holding my breath or diving or making bubble rings. And then it was pretty cool so that I worked for something
2:38
and wow, I got a record
