Someone were to ask me
what I would be doing
0:02
If I had all the time and energy and money in
the world, it would be stand-up paddleboarding
0:11
And I know that may sound wild for most
people, but I'm a small business owner
0:17
I have four kids, been married
almost 19 years, and we're busy
0:21
So blocking my schedule to do something
that I so simply love is near impossible
0:27
This venture was really quite a great. gift for me. For almost 30
consecutive days, Bonnie Gothel's from the USA spent roughly nine hours
0:36
on the waters of Lake Norman, North Carolina. She
was attempting to break the Guinness World Records
0:41
title for the greatest distance paddleboarded in
one month. For me, if I'm not doing something
0:48
I feel I'm moving backwards or staying still.
So the doing of this activity every single day
0:55
kept me excited. It kept me going.
It kept me motivated. I welcome the
0:59
the pain, I welcomed the challenge,
bring on the rain. It was mine to conquer
1:07
For me, it became meditative. Many
times I was lost in my paddle
1:13
And that was when my speed was the highest.
So I had to change my thinking all in one day
1:21
I had to go out there, enjoy nature, encounter
weather, physical challenge, and then come
1:27
back in and work on the data So switching gears like that was a huge challenge And then when coming in I
needed to take care of my body and work on muscle recovery because I only have a few hours before I have to go
1:40
to sleep and wake up and do it again. I really
enjoyed waving at people that would come out
1:47
and wave to me or talk to me. Okay, I met
the cool people on the leg. There they are
1:53
You take a passion and a desire to make a difference and you
pair that up with an idea of how far can you take something
2:02
I suppose that's when you end up with a world
record. I will say my name is Chloe McCartee
2:08
I'm from Guinness World Records. I've had
the pleasure of adjudicating dozens of events
2:13
This was the most ambitious record
that I could have been a part of
2:17
paddle boarding up to 29 miles a day, much
to nine hours of her time every single day
2:24
four hours in the morning, five at night. But this was a
logistical and also very intensive from the documentation side
2:33
Let alone physical, mental, spiritual. So on that
note, I am pleased to announce that Bonnie Golod's
2:42
you have achieved 520.20.4 miles. Blackwater
in one month for female. Congratulations
2:51
So this adventure of a lifetime has truly
been one of the biggest gifts of my lifetime
