Amy Palmiero-Winters shares her inspiring journey from a life-altering accident to becoming a motivational figure, emphasizing that life’s challenges are her training ground.
My name is Amy Palmyra Winters and the most important thing
I want everybody to know about me is that I'm a mother

I have two children and we all face obstacles and when you have something happened to you like what happened to me I was just out for a ride on my
motorcycle and a car happened to pull out in front of me and when it did it crushed my left foot and as a result I ended up losing my leg below the knee

So my training is really just getting through
life. It's getting through life because it's

100 miles on the treadmill is life. It's life. You
are going to have highs. You're going to have lows

You are going to want to
run as fast as you can
0:40
You are going to want to stop. And that's what
life is. So for me, I'm not your normal athlete

I don't train how someone would
typically train for an event like this
0:51
I live my life. My life is my training. I guess
I would have to say it's like a dream come true

and so by sitting here and doing this, I hope other
people understand that you can be just as great
