Hi, my name is Jesse Rood and I have the world record for the farthest distance axe throw
0:15
The first time I threw an axe was at the Lutheran Valley retreat camp
0:20
I found that I was pretty good at throwing the axe and it was very repeatable for me
0:24
When I was back in Nebraska college, I worked at an axe bar and really developed a skill for trick
0:29
shots and accuracy and knew at that point that I could undertake this record attempt
0:36
So for this attempt, I knew I was going to be going for a lot further than my original record of 90 feet
0:47
This time I was able to do it with less people watching, which took a lot of the nerves and pressure
0:51
out of it. We started by warming up from about 20 feet. And then when it came time to try from 143 feet
0:57
I threw a few axes and missed and then stuck the final axe at 143 feet
1:16
And my favorite thing about ax-starring is getting outside into the fresh air
1:22
And nothing feels better than warming up and throwing a lot of axes and then finally sticking from
1:27
a pretty far distance. I feel accomplished to have hit my personal record of 143 feet
1:33
And I hope someone else challenges me in the future so that I can continue to push myself
1:38
when it comes to distance for accident
