Feels good, man
0:05
We found our 10 most expensive cards. And
number 10 is a Gold Star Pikachu, $2,200
0:12
9, and it is the Championship Arena from
the World Championships in 2005, $2,500
0:22
My name is Piri Søren Ilsen. And I am Jens Iso-Breen. We just
broke the record for largest collection of Pokémon cards
0:29
What you see here is a curated
selection of the most interesting cards
0:33
And the rest are in the binders. Yeah, and
actually some in the boxes on the floor
0:38
That as well. Each binder is a series of cards.
Normally they're releasing around four sets a year
0:45
And with 25 years with Pokémon, it's 100
binders. Shining Charizard. It's shining
0:54
That's always a good combination for expensive
cards. That's around $3,500. Vaporeon
1:01
This one is in a perfect condition, roughly $3,500 as well. Just
like everything else, Pokémon cards gain value by supply and demand
1:12
But over the past few years, cards have exploded in price. The
base set, the first row here, Vaporeon, is my favorite Pokémon
1:21
We needed one card, this Moltres here. And
we spent a lot of money getting that card
1:26
And our parents were not very happy. We were
told to stop using money on Pokémon cards
1:32
It didn't go quite that way, but... Number
six, we have another gold star, Kyogre
1:39
As close to perfect condition as it can be,
$3,550. Number five, Tropical Tidal Wave
1:46
Promo card you got in the World Championship in 2005. There's
only four greater ten in the entire world with around $5,000
1:56
When do you know if a card is legitimate? Once you've had
the first million cards in your hands, you just feel it
2:03
It feels off as soon as it touches your hands. A
real card will have a black layer in the middle
2:11
Yes, and if you rip it, it's
quite easy to see the black layer
2:15
If you know what you're looking for, but
we don't recommend you ripping your cards
2:19
to find out if they are fake. Number
four, World Championship card in 2017
2:25
It has the champion stamp on it, around $5,000. Another
Vaporeon. It's the first edition jungle version, around $7,000
2:37
Generation 2 was released. They made
variations of Pokémon, the shiny Pokémon
2:43
This Voltorb, that is normally white and red.
Ponyta. It's my all-time favourite shiny, I think
2:51
And the one I have used a lot of time
trying to get in the video games. And..
2:57
Yeah, it just wouldn't happen. I
really spent many hours on that
3:02
The way they do dittoes, there's a different
Pokémon on the nine different cards
3:08
because ditto can transform into any
Pokémon. They get these beet-like eyes
3:13
So the face is wrong, but it's
a Pikachu, but it's a ditto card
3:16
Another Gold Star. Given to participants
in organized plays back in 2005
3:23
This was the first expensive card I bought. It wasn't
as expensive then, but right now it's at around $15,000
3:31
And number one of the list, it's another fan
favourite. First edition Charizard on base set
3:39
And it's shadowless. And graded nine, goes
for around $20,000. So that's the top ten
3:47
It's surreal to have this certificate. We have
been working to reach this goal for so long
3:56
and now we actually reached it,
and it's so cool. We're not done
4:03
No, not at all. But we will
return with the 30th anniversary
4:09
and see if we can break our own
record. So, we're going to do that
4:18
We're going to do that. We're going to do that.
We're going to do that. We're going to do that
4:22
We're going to do that. We're going to do that.
We're going to do that. We're going to do that
4:26
We're going to do that. We're going to do that.
We're going to do that. We're going to do that
4:30
We're going to do that. We're going to do that.
We're going to do that. We're going to do that
4:34
We're going to do that. We're going to do that.
We're going to do that. We're going to do that
4:38
We're going to do that. We're going
to do that. We're going to do that
