My name is Ed Whitby and the record that we've broken, or set today, is the world's longest
0:26
parade of ice cream guns. We began with 85 participants, sadly one broke down on the way so we finished with 84 to set the record

Everybody's bought an ice cream from a van at some point in their lives. We've all grown up with them, with the sound of the jingles, all about the experience of
0:51
going to the van to choose what you want from the menu on there. My favourite flavour of ice cream, very simple, I'm quite happy with vanilla, you don't need
0:57
any of these fancy flavours out there. Fond memories for everybody. It might start in childhood, but everybody carries those memories through adulthood as
1:06
well and it's that British tradition that all of us can relate to, that all of us enjoy
1:14
Every year we hold an event where we pull ice cream men together for a couple of days
1:19
I thought, in conversation with myself and my dad, wouldn't it be nice if perhaps he'd
1:23
come along in the vans? More so than that, maybe we could have a parade through the town just to show people, look
1:28
at the vans, and it escalated further. So we spoke with Guinness World Records, really excited about it, couldn't have been more
1:36
on board, it's a fantastic response that we could have asked for. And here we are, with a fantastic record that's been set
1:45
The challenge was getting to 50 people. We had to get a minimum of 50 people to set a record
1:51
Once we got there, it snowballed. Everybody came from everywhere and said, yeah, I really want to be a part of this
1:56
From what was very difficult in the first place, it was a fantastic result in the end

Holding a Guinness World Record title is a very proud moment. Something that I feel reflects all the hard work and time that's gone into pulling everything
2:08
together, but is reflective of everybody who's taken part in the events
2:13
So I'm proud, but I'd like to share that pride with everybody, to see that it's recognised
2:18
as a Guinness World Record title in itself. Wow, look at these vans
2:23
They're not just an ice cream van, they're a record holder. To be in the new book is a proud moment
2:29
A book that I've looked at many times over the years, all these weird and wonderful records
2:34
that you see in there. And to think, wow, we're now actually part of that
2:38
It's like a dream come true. So, I'm really proud of it
2:49
I think it's a really good book. I think it's a really good book. I think it's a really good book. I think it's a really good book
