Breaking barriers, longest catwalk walk record

I wanted a runway where everybody could showcase their talent and where we could inspire others

Hi, everyone. I'm Ololadee Ailabola. I hold the record title for the longest distance, worked on a cat's work by a model

I decided to audition for two fashion week that held last year in Lagos, Nigeria

The judges said, oh, you work well, but you are not tall enough

And that broke my heart. I started thinking about models that got in nose and other people who had faced stereotypes in

So I decided to create a runway where people could showcase their talent

And yes, that is why I attempted this record. During the event, I had a team of designers and stylists that worked with me who ensured that

they got ready the next outfit that I was going to wear. I walked the catwalk for about 50 seconds and my change time at the backstage was about one minute

On weekends I trained with my models to ensure that we worked professionally and was ready to eat the runway The majority of the clothes were Nigerian paste clothes This was the opening dress The flag of Nigerian color is green white

Green symbolizing productivity, white representing peace and unity. I reminded myself that I was not just working for myself, but for every other person who is facing the barrier

For every step I took on the catwalk and on the runway, I was. was taking a walk against stereotypes and challenges that were faced in the modeling and fashion industry

The total distance covered is 125.11 kilometres over a period of five days

It really feels great, overwhelming and amazing to hold a Guinness World Record title
