Hi, my name is Enya White and I hold a Guinness
World Record for the most back-balanced trapeze
0:11
rolls in 30 seconds for a female. I started circus when
I was nine years old so it's always been part of my life
0:18
I went to circus school back in Montreal. When I was still in circus
school I was approached by Cirque du Soleil to join the new recreation
0:26
for the show called Luzia which I am on right now. Because I've been
doing circus for a very long time I'm always constantly looking for
0:35
ways to challenge myself and I thought that
establishing a new record would be a very
0:40
good way to do that so I
decided to give it a go
0:48
My favourite move on trapeze is a very elegant
one but at the same time it's a very challenging
0:54
one technically. So I was trying really hard to go as
fast as I could to make sure I maintained the balance
1:02
throughout the entire movement. So I was
actually really nervous for the attempt
1:10
There was a lot of people watching me and you
would think that I would be used to having
1:14
that much attention but it was just kind of a
different energy and the excitement of it all
1:21
It's different than when I perform on stage
and just do my act in the show but it gave
1:25
me the extra motivation to just push myself
and really try to do the best for the attempt
1:31
and I think it worked because
I now own the world record
1:38
It feels like I'm still the same person I
was before the world record but now I have
1:47
it so I feel a lot of pride. It's also inspired me to see
how much further I can push my skills and how I can get out
1:57
of more of my comfort zone. One of the main things
that I love to do is to do things that are hard
2:03
It inspires other people and if I inspire at
least one person then my job is done here
