My name is Amy Palmera-Winters and the most important thing I want everybody to
0:04
know about me is that I'm a mother. I have two children and we all face
0:08
obstacles and when you have something happen to you like what happened to me I
0:13
was just out for a ride on my motorcycle and a car happened to pull out in front
0:17
of me and when it did it crushed my left foot and as a result I ended up losing
0:22
my leg below the knee. So my training is really just getting through life. It's
0:28
getting through life because a hundred miles on the treadmill is life. It's life
0:33
You are gonna have highs, you're gonna have lows, you are gonna want to run as
0:39
fast as you can, you are gonna want to stop and that's what life is. So for me
0:43
I'm not your normal athlete. I don't train how someone would typically train
0:50
for an event like this. I live my life. My life is my training. I guess I would have
0:55
to say it's like a dream come true and so by sitting here and doing this I
1:01
hope other people understand that you can be just as great. You just have to
