Good luck, mate

Yep, you too. On Australia Day 2026,
here at Gawler Airfield, South Australia
0:06
we went up myself and my son Max and we
conducted a attempt at the Guinness World Record
0:14
One. Our teamwork was really important because of the safety. Dad had
his job of doing the flying and I had my roles of watching the airspace
0:25
and watching the attitude. So we're
sitting in a two-seat DG-1000, G-G-1,000
0:30
lighter. And on this case, it was myself in the
back and max in the front. We glide around at a
0:33
standard 60 or 70 knots. We point the nose
down until we accelerate up to about 100 knots
0:39
And then we gradually pull back on the stick,
keeping the wings level. So the wings go back
0:44
The aircraft comes up and over like that. As we
come up, the aircraft slows down, right back to
0:49
about 45 or 50 knots. Then we're upside down and
gathers speed again, points it back to the ground
0:54
And we accelerate back up to 100 knots, where
again we pull the same stick back and same in
0:59
over. Each loop we're doing about two
and a half to three and a half cheese
1:06
And we'll simply repeat that over and over again. I guess through my whole life I been privileged to do a whole heap of different things both in my
work and outside of work that I really push myself to the limits As a family we climbed the highest mountain in each state and territory in Australia
1:32
and it really taught us how to push yourself
to limits and achieve stuff by setting goals
1:37
working hard and doing what you needed to
achieve them. My aim, probably share my journey
1:47
the aviation is one of the best things that you can
do in your life. One more than that will be it, Dad
1:52
844. What's the height to get back to
the airfield? 2,000. Great, levelling out
2:02
Leveling out. Good job, Max. Good job, Dad.
That's a Guinnessol records for both our names
2:11
Yes, indeed, man. It's your aircraft to
take us into the landing, mate. Roger
2:16
I did the last part of the flight after we've done the loops.
There were probably about 40 or 50 people watching, so
2:22
there was a lot of pressure and I pulled the
lighter up next to everyone and got out and then
2:26
all very exciting. Good job mate so very
proud of you. We completed a Guinness World
2:33
record for the most consecutive loops in a glider.
The record before us was 24 loops and we were
2:38
lucky enough to complete 45 loops that day.
We'd worked so hard and we put so much into it
2:45
and it came off like clockwork
and we are very very excited
