My name is Amanda Ilunga Stolse and I
hold the Guinness World Record of most
0:05
scissors transitions on horseback in 30 seconds
and most standing jumps on horseback in 30 seconds
0:11
I read the book as a kid, I went to the library
and I often looked at the shelf with all the books
0:17
of Guinness World Records and I found it very
fascinating and exciting how people could do
0:24
all these challenging things with their bodies
and what a human body is really capable of
0:29
So yeah, that really inspired
me. And I do have a little secret
0:33
I wanted to be some sort of
superhero ninja when I was a child
0:38
So I just dreamed when I saw all these gymnastic attempts. And really where people
use their body for physical challenges, that was what really stood out to me
0:48
I first discovered the sport of equestrian
vaulting when I was in my early teenage years
0:54
I was a regular equestrian writer before. I wrote ponies. And when I got
too big for that, my mom suggested launching me on her full-grown horse
1:03
just for me to get comfortable around it. And then
I had a friend at the equestrian center we were at
1:08
who had seen equestrian walking before and
actually done it as a very little child
1:12
She told me it was actually a sport,
and then from there, I just took off
1:17
I really love that only the fantasy is the limit here.
And you have this very specific bond with your horse
1:25
especially with me and Charlie. We have worked together for seven years. and this is a bond that you cannot find in any other way We really trust each other so I really like the way we can we
are in harmony Whenever I try new exercises he really careful with paying attention to what I doing to see if to make sure I don fall And on the other hand when we have practiced a lot the same
1:47
things and we are both very comfortable in it
you can really feel that some sort of you're
1:53
on a cloud line you're just floating in harmony
together and that's what I find very amazing
2:03
I really love how they make me calm. It really makes me one with nature
and it really makes me look into myself as well as a human and a person
2:18
And they're just so honest and they will let you
know when enough is enough and when we can do more
2:24
And just straightforward and they just go with the flow. They never know when we
put them in the truck if we're going to France or if they're going just, just
2:33
just across the bridge to Sweden. So I believe
it's the bond between me and the horses
2:39
and just the calmness they bring to me. I think
it's important to include all kinds of people
2:47
and really put spotlight onto a Christian sports
and that it's more than just riding a horse
2:55
There is a bond between it and there
are many different ways to handle horses
2:59
and just like humans, horses are different, they have different needs. different
needs. So I think it's important to really open up people's eyes around the sport and
3:07
hopefully it will expand
