Magical Collectibles, a Harry Potter fan's journey

One, two, three, four, five

Back in 1997, I did hear about Harry Potter being mentioned on Blue Peter, but because

I don't follow trends, I didn't want to just suddenly go to the bookshop, buy the book

and read it. Everybody else was doing it, I'm not that type of person. However, they

kept going on about this wonderful boy wizard, this amazing story that people were becoming

immersed in, and that it just took you away to somewhere magical. And I finally gave in

in 2001. I picked up the first book, and I have never looked back since

How long has it taken me to collect everything? It's in fact taken me 18 years, since I was

the age of 21 in 2001. There's my baby. I think the trickiest item to get my hands on

was my Arriving at Platform 9 3 Quarters Snow Globe by San Francisco Music Box. It's a beautiful

beautiful item and it shows the Hogwarts Express going around the base with Harry going through

Platform 9 3 Quarters to meet the train. My favourite items from the collection and why are... It's got to be my 24-karat gold-plated

golden snitch puzzle from Japan. It is absolutely beautiful. It was released around the time

the Chamber of Secrets was released. There's 5,000 pieces, 5,000 of them were made, and

it's just... To get hold of that took me about six months. It is absolutely stunning

it goes in a beautiful emerald box, it's gorgeous. I have disabilities. I have dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, and SPLD. Unfortunately, that leaves

me with a lot of problems with things like educational learning. When someone tells me

that they don't think I can do something, even because I've got disabilities, I am the

type of person that will show them no matter what is wrong, no matter what disabilities you have, if you believe that you can achieve that, then go for it, nothing is holding you

back but you. Because of my disabilities, I found it very hard to read a book, but thanks

to the Guinness World Records, back when I was a child, my mum used to get me them every Christmas. They were so beautifully illustrated, and only a small amount of writing

but so many colourful pictures, so for me when I was opening these books and looking

at them, it was just a fascinating world to be immersed in. I loved the Guinness World

Records. I feel like to have this record, it is unbelievable. I've got to be honest

it's like, it's the best thing ever, it's the biggest achievement so far in my life
