Ballooning to New Heights, Guinness World Records at Liverpool Comic-Con

Hi, I'm Craig Glendy, Editor-in-Chief at Guinness World Records. We're here at Liverpool

Comic Con with Tom to hopefully measure what will become the largest balloon costume. He

has to beat his own record of 262cm which is what, 8 foot 7 inches. So I've got the

step ladder, Tom's finished the costume, so let's just see how tall it is

But before we reveal if Tom has managed to break his own record, we thought we'd go for

a bit of a walk around Comic Con and meet some of the other cosplayers

Hello, who have you come as? The Hulk. Oh, the Hulk, yeah. Oh, funny enough, we have a Hulk

We've found another inflatable costume. It turns out here at Comic Con, there are lots of threats for an inflatable Hulk

I'm security for the big guy back there, Mr. Hulk. Stopping him from plumping into anyone

else and also stopping any of these balloons from popping, which is not easy

Hulk, calm down. There's no need for aggression like this. Alright, you asked for it

There's loads to do at Liverpool Comic Con. You can meet celebrities and get signatures

There's photo ops and there's also green screen. Look what we got

That was a lot of fun. We were walking around the con for quite a bit. Managed to get a

lot of people taking pictures. We managed to get a few pictures with a lot of people

dressed up as well. A bit disorientating. I have a little gap, which is about that big

just about for where my eyes are, but I can only see straight forwards. I can't see to

the sides. People are asking the question generally, is there someone inside the costume? Yes

yes, there's a man inside there. Nice. Right, it's been a really long, hard day here at Liverpool Comic Con, but Tom has finished

the costume. He's wandered round to prove that it's something he could wear and we've

measured the height. Now the record to beat was 262 centimetres. Tom, where are you? I'm

pleased to say that you managed 353 centimetres. 11 foot 7 and a half. So this is a new Guinness

World Records title. Congratulations for the largest balloon outfit. You are officially amazing

Feels good to have another Guinness World Record title because now I've got a nice little

collection working up. Goodbye. Come on, it's too long. He's had enough

Ironically, my wife has an allergy to latex, so making balloons around the house is not

one of the best things for her
