The Brief

RB (Reckitt Benckiser) was looking for a new and unique way to inspire and engage their employees with a purpose at their annual sales and marketing conference in Las Vegas, NV. A purpose driven company, RB employees were eager to attempt a record which would motivate their team whilst at the same time giving back to the community.

The Solution

The record selected was carefully conceived and evaluated by the Guinness World Records in-house creative agency, The Records Lab, to ensure the ideal solution for their purpose.

Held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the day began with approximately 500 employees working side-by-side to continuously fill backpacks with notebooks, calculators, pencils, pens and any other essential school supplies. The official adjudicator was onsite, providing uplifting energy to encourage excitement throughout the whole process, as well as instant verification.

RB case study

Additionally, our team of coaches helped organise and monitor the staff to ensure all the backpacks were filled properly before the final countdown. Each backpack needed to contain five different school supplies and be fully zipped at the end of the hour.

As a result, the team’s hard work and motivation earned them the record title of Most backpacks stuffed with school supplies in one hour, stuffing a total 1,512 backpacks in an unforgettable experience. Upon their achievement, they announced they would be donating all the backpacks to the Andre Agassi Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of America to help fund education for local children in need of assistance.
