The Largest merengue lesson recently took place at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA). The record attempt was organized by Osteo Bi-Flex, a joint supplement, and was led by ballroom dancing champion and celebrity choreographer Mary Murphy.

The Latin-inspired dance was taught by Mary to more than 250 participants in a half-hour lesson.

The record was attempted as a celebration of movement and to promote an active lifestyle.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric attended the event to verify the exciting attempt.

Derek Bowen, Senior Vice President for Osteo Bi-Flex said: “Our product has been helping people for years, so to have our name down in the record books for getting people moving is a perfect fit with our brand!”

Mary Murphy added: “As a dancer, I know how important movement is for your health and happiness. I also know that joint comfort can play a role in helping keep us moving!”
