Doni Gales is flying high after her successful Guinness World Records Day record attempt in a wind tunnel in Australia. 

An iFLY instructor at iFLY Down Under in Penrith, New South Wales, Doni has set the record for Most front split spins in a wind tunnel in one minute, achieving a head-spinning 55.

iFLY Down Under is a wind tunnel that creates an indoor skydiving experience and allowed Doni, 23, to combine two of her passions – dance and indoor flying.

The attempt involved Doni gaining stability in mid-air, while doing the splits and spinning continuously. Despite the physically challenging nature of the attempt, Doni managed it with ease, and attributes her success to her dance background.

"I originally got into flying after working as a dancer on a cruise ship for a couple years. I've danced my whole life, I was born and raised into it. That definitely helped me along my progression with flying."

Doni was delighted after successfully setting the brand-new record, saying: "I'm super excited, super happy with myself."

"I'd love to go for another record attempt – I'd like to top one that’s already existing now I think, so I'll have to do a bit of a research!"
