Guinness World Records is once again partnering with the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, making this already extraordinary event even more memorable by providing record-breaking hopefuls with on-the-day record verification at the race in October.

The first Guinness World Records title achieved at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon was set in 2004 with Toronto-Beaches resident Michal Kapral running 2:49:44 for the Fastest marathon while pushing a pram (pictured below).

This year, Calum Neff has applied to bring this record back to the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, and will be challenging the current record of 2:42:21.

Join Calum and help make the 2016 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon the best yet by attempting to break a world record on the day!

If you would like to attempt a record, please make a standard application via our website’s ‘Apply to set or break a record’ section and include the following information:
Once you’ve made an application, please email us@guinnessworldrecords.com and jenna@canadarunningseries.com with your Application Reference.

As part of the submission process a full description of each applicant's planned record attempt will be sent to Canada Running Series. The attempt will then be assessed to ensure it is appropriate for the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

Canada Running Series reserves the right to deny entry into the 2016 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon if the costume is deemed to be inappropriate or violate health and safety regulations.

Please note that Guinness World Records participants must be entered in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon event before applying.

The deadline for applications is 6 PM EST on Friday September 16, 2016.
