Sultan Tea unveils largest teapot ever at Morocco's International Agricultural Show

In a tribute to Moroccan culture which considers tea a symbol of sharing, hospitality and respect, family business Sultan Tea recently created the Largest teapot ever, measuring a striking 4 m (13 ft 1 in) in height and 2.58 m (8 ft 5 in) in diameter.

 

The super-sized teapot was unveiled at the International Agricultural Show in Meknes, Morocco, which took place at the end of April, coinciding with the brand’s 80th anniversary celebrations.

 

 

The teapot has a traditional design and is made of iron, weighing approximately 1,200 kg (2,465 lb).

 

For its inauguration, 1,500 litres (329.95 UK gal; 396.25 US gal) and of tea were prepared using 3 kg (6 lb) of mint.

 

 

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Lorenzo Veltri attended the event to verify the new record.

 

Previously, Sanbao Xu (China) held the record for a ceramic teapot that measured 1.8 m (5 ft 10 in) in height and 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) in diameter. It was created in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, China in 2006, for Lu'an Guapian Tea Co. Ltd of Anhui province.
