Video: German gamer Kynos explains how he completed Final Fantasy VII in world record time

Back in June 2013, German gamer “Kynos” – seen here toting the Buster Sword as mercenary Cloud Strife – completed the Fastest segmented completion of Final Fantasy VII in just 6 hr 44 min 49 sec. 

 

The incredible time, which was verified by SpeedDemosArchive.com, remains unbeaten to this day.

 

Kenos spent thousands of hours practising his run on Square’s 1997 RPG classic, using a technique called “step counting” to optimise his time.
