The tallest living man is Leonid Stadnyk (Ukraine, b.1971), who measured 2.57 m (8 ft 5.5 in) in 2006.

Mr Stadnyk suffers from acromegalic gigantism caused by a tumour on his pituitary gland that stimulated the over-production of the growth hormone.
