Largest Clubbercise class

UK-based non-profit organisation Greenwich Leisure Ltd (GLL) wanted to host a fun community event to promote health and fitness, so its leaders decided to arrange the world’s Largest Clubbercise® class.

An incredible 260 people turned up to the supersize lesson at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.

So many people wanted to take part that they had to do the class on a hockey pitch, because there wasn’t an indoor venue in Preston large enough to hold everyone.

Largest Clubbercise class

Clubbercise® is an energetic dance-fitness class in which participants practice aerobic routines to loud disco music.

Everyone really got into the spirit of the attempt, with lots of people turning up in fluorescent clothes and waving glow sticks, which looked amazing under the UV lights.

The 30-minute-long night-time lesson was led by three fully qualified Clubbercise® instructors, as required by the Guinness World Records guidelines for this challenge.

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Lucia Sinigagliesi was on hand to count the participants and make sure that all the rules were followed.

"It was an incredible evening, the energy in the arena was electric. I’m ecstatic that the first ever Clubbercise GLOWFEST event was such a huge success and to set a Guinness World Records title for the largest Clubbercise class was the icing on the cake!" – Claire Burlison Green, Clubbercise Founder and Brand Director.

Jimmy Khan, Partnership Manager, Greenwich Leisure Ltd added: "We are now proud holders of an official Guinness World Records title. It was an amazing evening attracting people from across the country to participate and hopefully achieve something that will stay with them forever."
