Arla Foods Deutschland GmbH (Germany) invited guests at the Muenster city festival in Germany to take a seat at the world’s Longest picnic table, in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary.
 
The supersize table measured an incredible 211.82 metres (694 ft 11.35 in) which is long enough to cover two soccer pitches.
 
Thirty Arla Foods employees spent the night before the event building the giant bench alongside the cathedral, using a whopping 1,840 metres of wood and 5,000 screws.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Lena Kuhlmann was on hand to verify the attempt and ensure that the team had created one continuous picnic table.

On the morning of the festival, around 800 visitors sat down at the table to a feast including 2,000 breakfast rolls and 2,400 slices of bread.
 
Arla Foods Deutschland GmbH successfully broke the previous record of 194.7 m (638 ft 9.35 in) which was achieved by Flags for Managing and Organizing Exhibitions & Conferences (Kuwait) at Kuwait Shooting Club, in Kuwait city, Kuwait only four months earlier.
