Aiming to raise awareness and funds for local AIDs organisation Sida Groupe Genève, food brand Gilles Desplanches (Switzerland) created the Largest éclair mosaic ever, made using over 23,700 individual choux pastry treats topped with coloured frosting.

The finished piece measured an impressive 81.27 m² (874.78 ft²).

Hundreds of volunteers got involved in the attempt, including the preparation of the éclairs and assembly of the mosaic at the Cornavin train station in Geneva, Switzerland.

The final image depicted Swiss comic character Titeuf, in a design created by the comic series creator and event sponsor Zep, especially for the world record attempt.

Once the total had been counted and verified by Guinness World Records adjudicator Anna Orford, the edible artwork was taken apart and sold to visitors, with the impressive CHF 78'700 raised all given to charity.

Gilles Desplanches was presented with an official certificate in recognition of their appetising achievement.
