Indian company Bhima Jewellery wanted to organise an initiative for their CSR programme that would benefit young women in their local community.
They decided to host the Largest physical self-care lesson – basing the class around advice for dealing with menstrual pain.
An impressive 2,886 young women aged between 10 and 20 years old turned up on the day and took part in the 30 minute-long lesson at Nishagandhi Auditorium, Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
Led by Dr. Sheharsa, Dr. Vasundhara and Dr. Asha Sreedhar, the activities involved a 15 minute yoga demonstration with the youngsters given lots of tips, such as using heat pads for pain relief.
Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar was on hand to officiate the attempt.
“In fact there is more to it than what Bhima achieved – it was not just the record, but the faith and confidence of all those who took part in the monumental event.”
