Canadian-owned drinks manufacturer Mike’s Hard Lemonade recently celebrated its 17th anniversary in Los Angeles, California by breaking the Guinness World Records title for the Most candles on a cake.

The cake was topped with a total of 50,151 candles to reflect the number of likes that the brand’s special birthday post received on Facebook.

The birthday treat was made up of 72 individual chocolate sheet cakes, iced together and assembled as a square ring. It weighed 310.26 kg (684 lb) and had an 8.18 m² (88 ft²) surface area covered in birthday candles.

The delicious bake was enjoyed by guests at the birthday party, and all leftover cake was donated to charity.

Guinness World Records adjudicator, Christina Conlon, was on attendance to approve the record and said: “What makes this so exciting and special is the unique, unconventional way Mike’s chose to celebrate its 17th birthday – by enlisting its fans to help the brand make history and achieve a Guinness World Records title.”
