Two pairs of Malaysian magicians have been battling it out for the Most costume change illusions in one minute record since 2016, with the title changing hands multiple times over the past two years.
Since we reported that Min Chek Loo and Mark Yong Chuan Aun – aka ‘Vivas Magic’ – broke the record with a total of 20 in October 2016, Avery Chin and Sylvia Lim – aka Avery & Sylvia – have bettered their competitors’ record not once, but twice.
The most recent attempt saw the duo achieve a mind-boggling 24 costume change illusions – that’s a new outfit every 2.5 seconds!
The strict rules for this title state that after every ‘reveal’ a completely different costume must be worn, and there can be no evidence of the previous outfit.
The event took place in in George Town, Penang, Malaysia, earlier this month, enthralling a huge audience with their magical talents.
Avery & Sylvia took on the challenge to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Malaysian independence.
The first time we published a video of the pair attempting this record on Facebook, it went viral and has been viewed over 41 million times to date.
