One of the record holders who has bounded into the Guinness World Records 2018 Edition is pogo pro Biff Hutchison, of Burley, Idaho, USA.

He holds the title for the Highest jump on a pogo stick at 11 ft 0.5 in (3.36 m) – that’s twice the height of the average human.

Biff is the first person to clear 11 ft – three years after he first achieved the title with a 9 ft 7 in jump.

He had to jump over a rigid, level bar (such as those used in high jump athletic events) in order for the record attempt to be valid. The height of the jump was taken as the height of the top of this bar.

Highest jump on a pogo stick

Biff has been practicing his skills ever since he first hopped on a pogo stick at the age of 10 - “Unlike most kids, I just never stopped!”

However, taking part in such incredible stunts and contests has led to a number of injuries.

Biff has broken both ankles multiple times, his right leg in five places, dislocated his knee caps, broken his collar bone, jaw, wrists and the list goes on – it’s no wonder his mum doesn’t like to watch his competitions!

“I have made it my life’s goal to make the sport of extreme pogoing as legitimate as possible,” said Biff.

“To be featured in the Guinness World Records book really helps broadcast my sport to the masses.”

In the video below, Biff demonstrates his top five pogo tricks, including a move he invented called the 'Judo Backflip':
