A team of LEGO experts spent around 600 hours building the world’s Largest LEGO® brick wind turbine and then assembling it outside the Liverpool ONE shopping centre in Liverpool, UK.

A staggering 146,251 plastic bricks were used its construction.
 
Guinness World Records adjudicator Anna Orford officiated the attempt in front of a huge audience, including many young school kids.

She called on the help of a professional independent surveyor who had to jump inside a cherry picker to measure the enormous structure.

The Danish company attempted this challenge to celebrate the fact that LEGO now balances 100% of its energy use with energy from renewable sources, since investing in Liverpool’s Burbo Bank Extension wind farm.
 
The famous toy company also wanted to show kids the importance of using renewable energy and learning about environmental issues.
