But rather than sharing flowers or chocolates this February 14, we’ve created a top 10 bouquet of the most heart-swooning, romance-inducing world records in existence.
Oldest married couple to complete a marathon on each continent (aggregate age)
Just a few days after Valentine’s Day 2015, Cathie, aged 61, and Troy Johnson, 68, set a record for the oldest couple to run a marathon on all seven continents. They have a combined age of 129 years 109 days.
The inspiring couple from the US set off on 8 February and over the following 11 days ran marathons together in Australia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Tunisia, the United States, Chile and Antarctica. #RelationshipGoals
Fastest wedding chapel
In 2010, Rev. Darrell Best of Shelbyville, Illinois, USA, converted his 1940s fire truck into a wedding chapel on wheels.
Dubbed 'The Best Man', the wedding venue allows lovers to tie the knot while they're on the road and is capable of reaching speeds of 99 km/h (62 mi/h).
Rev. Best, who has married over 40 couples in the vehicle, says that people love it because "it allows them to get married in any environment they want.”
Shortest married couple
Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Lie Hoshino, both of Brazil, have been verified as having a combined height of just 181.41 cm (71.42 in). They became record holders back in September 2016 after tying the knot.
Speaking to Guinness World Records in November 2016, Katyucia said: “We may be short but we have big hearts and lots of love for each other as well as everybody in our lives. Our life isn’t without its challenges but we are so happy we can tackle these challenges together.”

Tallest married couple
With a combined height of 13 ft 10.72 in (423.47 cm), Sun Mingming and his wife Xu Yan, both of China, are the tallest couple in the world, measuring 7 ft 8.98 in (236.17 cm) and 6 ft 1.74 in (187.3 com) respectively.
The professional sports players met at the National Games in China in 2009 and fell in love.
Their advice for a successful marriage? “No one is perfect, therefore you need to support one another on a daily basis.”
Most flowers picked up with the mouth in a contortion backbend in one minute
The incredibly-elastic Liu Teng from China has mastered a unique way to give flowers. She picked up 15 blossoms during an attempt in Yongcheng, Henan, China, on 16 November 2016.
Longest underwater kiss (apnea)
Demonstrating the depth of their love, Michele Fucarino and Elisa Lazzarini (both Italy) kissed for 3 min 24 sec 34 frames while submerged in a water tank on the set of TV show Lo Show dei Record in 2010.
Longest wedding dress train
The longest wedding dress train measured 2,599 m (8,526 ft 9 in) and was achieved by Shililanshan in Xiamen, Fujian, China on 20 August 2015.
The design inspiration for the wedding gown was the sea of flowers in Shililanshan in Xiame and it was decorated with petals.
Longest dance marathon by a pair
The longest dance marathon by a couple is 38 hr 30 min and was achieved by Brett and Jennifer Griswold (both USA) in Hawaii, USA, from 6 to 7 December 2014.
The dance instructors performed the Argentine Tango for the duration of their attempt. The dance marathon was used to raise money for the National Federation of the Blind (NFB).
Longest marathon hugging
Love was in the air at an event organised by Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Pattaya, Thailand, over Valentine’s Day 2014.
Twenty-six couples embraced for 26 hr 26 min and 26 seconds.
Most body modifications (married couple)
Victor Hugo Peralta (Uruguay) and his wife Gabriela Peralta (Argentina) have 84 modifications, verified on the set of Lo Show dei Record in Milan, Italy, on 7 Jul 2014.
These consist of 50 piercings, 14 body implants, eight microdermals, five dental implants, four ear expanders, two ear bolts and one forked tongue.
