Current Time Lord Peter Capaldi was on hand to accept the Guinness World Records title for ‘Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Doctor Who Characters’ in Mexico City on Saturday, following a successful record attempt during La Mole Comic Con. 
A total of 492 Doctor Who doppelgängers, Daleks and Oods were among those who took part in the attempt. 
The actor was joined by the show’s Executive Producer Brian Linchpin to support the epic record attempt, with the pair both in Mexico to celebrate the premier of Doctor Who, Season 9 on NBC’s Syfy channel.
The Doctor Who series and its passionate fans hold a multitude of Guinness World Records titles, some of which are highlighted in the brand new Guinness World Records 2016 Blockbusters! book which is out now in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
