Aiming to raise awareness and support for the WE Bake for Change campaign (Canada), flour makers Robin Hood® and non-profit organisation WE Day recently produced the Largest cookie mosaic ever at Evergreen Brick Works, in Toronto, Canada, measuring a mouth-watering 131.15 m² (1,411.26 ft²).
The entirely edible artwork was made up of a staggering 13,690 individual shortbread cookies and depicted an image of the world map, with red hearts highlighting the countries of the world where WE Bake for Change has made a difference to people’s lives.
An official Guinness World Records adjudicator attended the event to verify the challenge, and was thrilled to present those involved with a certificate confirming the successful new record.
Each of the colourful cookies were individually-wrapped in order to avoid wastage, and following the record achievement they were given out to the public and donated to local food banks.
Robin Hood® and WE Day significantly bettered the previous record of 126.21 m² (1,358.51 ft²) which was achieved by The Bright School and MoonPie (USA), in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, back in 2012.
