The 12th annual Guinness World Records Day is being celebrated all over the globe today with upwards of 600,000 people hoping to secure their place in the history books.
Universal Studios Singapore in Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore has marked the occasion by unveiling the world’s Largest lightbulb display in an indoor venue.
The breath-taking display consisting of 824,961 individual bulbs is the showpiece of the attraction’s Universal Journey – a spectacular experience created for the Christmas season which gives visitors the opportunity to adventure through eight differently-themed zones.
The record-breaking light display took two months to construct.
Mr Jason Horkin, Senior Vice President of Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, said: “We have upped the ante for this year’s Santa’s All-Star Christmas with new experiences such as the record-breaking Universal Journey and the magical Santa’s Village, in addition to crowd favourites such as snowfall and fireworks."
"It’s very exciting to bring together the park’s all-star cast for one of the most festive Christmas celebrations in the region and we look forward to seeing our guests’ eyes light up with us during this special time of the year," he added.
Guinness World Records Day was launched in 2004 to celebrate the day the Guinness World Records book sold its 100 millionth copy.
