Every Wednesday we’ll be shining a light on the coolest, wackiest, or most unique records from around the globe recently approved by our Records Management Team with our Spotlight series.

This week we’re focusing on the power of the humble beard, proving its more than just a statement of style and individuality.

From Karl-Heinz Hille who holds the record for the most wins at the World Beard and Moustache Championships, to Sarwan Singh from Canada whose 8ft facial hair has earned him the title longest beard – there are plenty of examples of incredible record-breaking facial hair.

However few match the sheer strength of Antanas Kontrimas’ chin whiskers.

The Lithuanian appeared in our 2015 book with his record for the heaviest weight lifted by human beard.

Now Antanas has broken his own record for heaviest vehicle pulled by beard, pulling a 1,952 kg (4303 lbs 6.72 oz) car five metres on national TV in Lithuania.
