A red hot record was broken in India last month when a new benchmark was set for the longest tunnel kiln.

Situated at Carbonyx Technologies' enormous First Carbon Technologies industrial plant near Dahej in Gujarat State, the architectural masterpiece was confirmed to measure 720 Feet (219 Meter 45 in).

The figure was verified by Guinness World Records adjudicator Nikhil Shukla along with an independent qualified surveyor.

The industrial furnace is used to to convert coal into a a coke substitute known as cokonyk and can reach temperatures of up to an incredible 1300 Degrees Celsius.
