Adjudications
It is possible to hire a trained adjudicator to verify your record live and on-the-spot. If you require an adjudicator to be present at your record attempt, a dedicated Records Manager will be responsible for your claim and it will receive immediate Fast Track service. You will have support in finding the right record category for you, and any questions you may have - for example, about specific rules relating to your record attempt – will be answered immediately.
What are the advantages of inviting an official GWR adjudicator to a record attempt?
The record will be instantly verified and officially announced on site. The presence of an official GWR adjudicator will lend authenticity to the record attempt and raise the profile of the event – not to mention the PR opportunities, since the adjudicator can hand successful record-breakers a certificate live and in person if their record-breaking attempt is successful!
Does inviting an adjudicator come with a cost?
Yes, the adjudication fee depends on the location, but it also depends on the number of records, adjudicators and days involved. Travel and accommodation costs will also have to be covered by the organisers of the event.
Does Guinness World Records offer support in advertising the attempt?
We will review your press release; our internal Press Office will be available to examine it and post it on our media zone section of the website, which receives 11 million visitors per year.
What else does GWR offer to claimants as part of the adjudication service?
- Our Records Managers can offer great support in finding the right record for the event. All questions related to the record and guidelines will be answered straight away by the Records Manager dedicated to your attempt.
- On the day, a framed certificate will be presented on stage, offering great photo opportunities.
- Use of the GWR logo for a period commencing two weeks prior to the date of the Record Attempt up to and including the day of the Record Attempt for
- Posters (max 20)
- Leaflets (max 5000)
- Websites (max 2)
- Banners (max 10)
- T-Shirts (max 200)
- Newspapers/Magazines (advertising) (max 5)
- The opportunity to have an article covering the build-up to the record attempt published on our website, along with photos: http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/adjudications/
- Likewise, following a successful outcome to the record attempt we will update the story and keep the article on our website.
- Our adjudicator is available for interviews and press conferences, and can deliver speeches if needed.
If an adjudicator is present on site, do we still have to submit all evidences listed and detailed in the Record Breakers’ Pack?
In general, no - but there are exceptions when the presence of an adjudicator is not enough to verify the attempt. For marathon records, for example, we
will still require a logbook, which will be checked by our adjudicator upon arrival – as our adjudicator will not be able to be present throughout the duration of the attempt.
